Today was an exciting day. We had maternity pictures taken this morning at our house. It actually was quite a bit of fun, however, I was not able to get my wedding band and engagement ring off afterwards. Hopefully they'll come off in the morning.
As the days go by I keep thinking that Kaylyn will be making her appearance in March rather than in April. As long as she is healthy and ready to come out I'm ok with it. Chris and I met with a pediatrician on Friday and really liked her so that is who we will be taking Kaylyn to. I have my first baby shower next weekend which is with family and some of my friends. Then the following weekend, I'll have another shower with all of my friends from work. I'm very excited to see what Kaylyn gets at both showers. With those two parties approaching, it is really starting to sink in that she will be here in no time. Between the showers, teaching, doctor's appointments, and tutoring, I will be very busy almost up until the point that we finally get to meet our little girl.
I have really started to swell quite a bit on my feet, ankles, and hands (hence my rings not coming off). My feet have probably been the worst. There have been times where I have been so uncomfortable that there isn't much I can do but try not to think about it.
More later, until then...

What a Big Day!
So we had our ultrasound today to take a look at how big Kaylyn is and to see if we were off on our due date. My mom and sister came with me to the ultrasound (mom had been one time before and this was Jennifer's first time) which was awesome. Chris had to work but Jennifer made sure she texted him a picture of what his daughter looks like. Right now she is weighing in at 4 pounds 7 ounces. She has HUGE cheeks and looks so amazing and peaceful in each picture that we have! she is in the head down position and just looks so perfect (not that I am biased by any means!) It was a breathtaking experience. She really looks like a baby now and not like an alien! :) I am so in love!
I am still measuring about 2 1/2 weeks early. I will go in for another check up with the doctor on March 1st. After we do the typical weigh in, measuring, and blood pressure, she is going to check to see if I have started dilating...if I have, then baby Kaylyn may be here before we know it!

Anxiously Awaiting.....
Tomorrow's our big day of seeing baby Kaylyn and figuring out just how big she is and if I am further along than we had originally thought. It's mind-blowing to think that I could be a mommy in a much shorter time than I had expected. Either way, I will be absolutely thrilled when she does arrive!
I haven't had any more kidney stones so the count is still at 24-let's hope that it stays at that number!!!!
Well as soon as we find out more information tomorrow, I'll be sure to update!

Time Flies
Kidney stones passed since being pregnant: 24...Yes, believe it!
Chris and I have our last childbirth class this week. We also have another class which teaches different techniques for dealing with the pain of childbirth without having medication. I looked at my calendar today and realized that I have something going on every weekend for the next month of so. It's going to make the time fly to Kaylyn's birth. It's hard to believe that I only have 7 1/2 weeks left of being pregnant (if she can stay in there that long!)
Kaylyn has been busy moving around, although I've noticed she has definite sleep patterns right now which is neat. She likes to stretch out (and I mean STRETCH out) from side to side. She is such a joy and blessing already and I can only imagine how it'll be once she is here.
Coming up: week of February 15th-ultrasound, blood work (to check to see if my blood count has leveled out) and regular doctor's visit on Monday and meeting with a pediatrician on Friday afternoon.
More later. Until then...

31 weeks
Kidney stones since becoming pregnant: 18 (plus the one that is trying to pass!)
I went for a check-up on Monday. Everything went well, however, now I am measuring 4 weeks ahead which wouldn't be unusual except that two weeks ago I was measuring right on time. So...on the 15th, we are having an ultrasound done to see just how big Kaylyn is measuring to see if we are off on the due date. Also on the 15th, I will have a regular check-up as well as blood work done. Since my blood count was elevated during my glucose testing, they have to re-check it just to make sure everything is ok.
Chris and I are almost finished with birthing education class. Our last class will be next Wednesday and then we have another class that Thursday that will teach different coping techniques for the pain that I'll experience instead of having medication. Time is really starting to tick away. We are still planning on being induced at 39 weeks unless Kaylyn comes on her own before then.
